My Sister

She holds a special place in my heart
I've known her most of my life
There is a side to her many people don't see
She is a loving mother and wife
Our time together is special to us
And in our hearts we know
We'll be together in our minds
Wherever we may go
People have tried to come between us
But we knew right from the start
These troublemakers we've come across
Can never keep us apart
She reads just like a mystery book
But I read between the lines
And under that tough exterior
She is tender, warm and kind
She's strong in front of people
But in the wind she'll bend
I know she'll always be there for me
My sister, my confidant, my friend
