Tenchi lives with his father in the country where he helps his grandfather take care of the Masaki Shrine.  He is a normal kid living a normal life until women literally start falling from the sky.  Being the gentleman he is, he and his father allow them to stay with them as long as they wish.  Tenchi is a shy young man who is skilled in swordplay, taught to him by his grandfather. </div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="nobuyuki"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Nobuyuki Masaki</U></I>- Tenchi's father, Nobuyuki does not posess any Jurai power.  He is a lonely man having lost his wife,Acheka,years ago.  He is also a bit of a pervert.  He enjoys sneaking the occasional peek into the girls bath. A happy go lucky kinda guy, Nobuyuki is absolutely thrilled that his Tenchi has finally met some girls.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="katsuhito"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Katsuhito (Yosho)</U></I>- Tenchi's Grandfather, Katsuhito was once the heir to throne of Jurai.  He left however and settled on Earth.  Katsuhito is a skilled fighter and posess's a great deal of Jurai power.  He is always calm and collected no matter the situation.  Even with his serious demeanor he manages to crack a joke every no and then.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="acheka"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Acheka</U></I>- Tenchi's mother, Acheka was a sweet person who enjoyed every minute.  She passed away shortly after Tenchi's birth.  She was Katsuhito's daughter and posessed a moderate amount of Jurai power.  We only see her in the first Tenchi movie, <I>Tenchi Muyo! in Love</I>.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="aeka_"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Aeka</U></I>- Aeka is Yosho's half sister and the princess of Jurai.  She came to Earth where she met Tenchi and had a suspicion of his Jurai power from the beginning.  She almost instantly falls in love with him and decides to stay on Earth for a while.  Aeka is well refined and elegant, but at times can get rather hostile.  She posesses the Jurai power but it does not do her much good throughout the series.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="sasami"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Sasami</U></I>- Eight years old-Sasami is Aeka's little sister and also a princess of Jurai.  She is always smiling and loves to cook.  She harbours a crush on Tenchi who looks at her as only a little sister.  Sasami only wants to have fun and because of it gets into trouble sometimes.  Her cuteness factor ranks right up there with Pikachu and Hello!Kitty. Wether you like em or not, there..just...so..damn.....cute....AAAArrrrrrggggghhhhhh!</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="ryoko"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Ryoko</U></I> - Ryoko,who is 700 years old, was a infamous space pirate before she landed on Earth where Tenchi finds her.  She falls in love with Tenchi and is constantly competing with Aeka for his affection. She has stopped her thieving ways, almost, and is getting used to living a normal life.  Ryoko is a demon and Washu's creation depending on which series you're watching.  She controls her magic through gems implanted in her wrists.  Without these gems she is powerless.  At the end of Tenchi Muyo it is suggested that the gems Ryoko possesses can create Jurai power.  It is never confirmed, however.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="ryo_ohki"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Ryo-ohki</U></I>- Ryo-Ohki is a half rabbit-half cat creature who can transform into a living spaceship.  In the beginning she belongs to Ryoko, but Sasami latches on shortly thereafter.  In the last series Ryo-ohki can also transform into a large pink rabbit mecha controlled by Sasami.  It has an unstoppable appetite for carrots which it will do anything to get.  Ryo-ohki's cuteness factor also ranks up there with Pikachu,Sasami,and Hello!Kitty. </div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="washuu"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Washuu</U></I>- The most brilliant mind in the Universe.  Washu lives in Tenchi's closet which she has connected to another plane of existence.  Once the most intelligent teacher at the Science Academy she was expelled after attempting to build an invention to take over the world.  She is a bit strange but is no doubt a wiz at science.  At 10,000 years old Washuu is also the second smallest member of the group.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="mihoshi"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Mihoshi</U></I>- Mihoshi is a member of the Galaxy Police, only because her father holds an important position there.  She is not very smart and brings to mind about a thousand blonde jokes.  Somehow she manages to survive her assignments.  Mihoshi seems to have the mentality of a small child and insists that she remain with her partner, Kiyone.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="kiyone"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Kiyone</U></I>- Once an outstanding member of the Galaxy Police destined for great things Kiyone's luck has gone downhill since partnered with Lt First Class Mihoshi.  All Kiyone really wants is to be as far from Mihoshi as possible but no matter what Mihoshi ends up right back at her side.  Kiyone is a serious woman, who does her job no matter the cost, and is not to happy about being stationed on Earth.  She is the only character who expresses a desire to leave Tenchi's house.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="kagato"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Kagato</U></I>- Kagato was an heir to the throne of Jurai back at the same time as Yosho.  The two of them trained everyday to better their skills.  Kagato however was pulled into the dark side of the Jurai power.  Yosho and Kagato faced off once more, this time to the death.  Kagato was defeated and disappeared into subspace.  All the time strengthening his Jurai power until he was the strongest Jurai warrior ever.  Fronting as Yosho he claimed the throne and had Aeka and Sasami labeled as traitors and arrested.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="azaka"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Azaka</U></I>- Azaka is the eldest of the two knights famous for defending the Jurai royal Family.  Once the greatest knight of the Jurai warriors, Azaka, was sealed in a wooden statue to forever serve the Jurai Royal Famly.  He was revived by Yosho to aid in the defeat of Kagato.  Azaka also remains in the statue that guards Lady Aeka from any harm.  The wooden statues are called guardians.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="kamidake"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Kamidake</U></I>- Kamidake is the second knight famous for defending the Jurai Royal Family.  Sealed away in a wooden statue so that he may forever serve the Jurai Family , Kamidake was revived along with Azaka to aid in the defeat of Kagato.  Kamidake also remains in the statue to defend Lady Aeka.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="nagi"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Nagi</U></I>- Nagi is a bounty hunter, the best bounty hunter in the universe.  Ryoko is the only person to ever escape capture and for that Nagi has vowed to forever chase Ryoko until she has finished the job.  </div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="ken_ohki"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Ken-Ohk</U></I>i- Ken-Ohki is a half rabbit,half cat creature the same as Ryo-Ohki.  Ken-Ohki and Ryo-Ohki fall in love and keep their masters from killing eachother.  Ken-Ohke can change into a living spaceship the same as Ryo-Ohki. </div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="tsunami"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Tsunami</U></I> - The Royal tree, Sasami's Spaceship,Sasami, however you look at it Tsunami is obviously important to the Jurai Royal Family.  Tsunami looks like Sasami only all grown up(watch episode 9 and you'll find out why), she is also the most powerful royal tree of Jurai.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="dr_clay"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Dr.Clay</U></I>- Dr.Clay is Washu's sworn enemy.  Once a student of Washu's at the Science Academy, Dr.Clay has vowed to prove his intellectual abilities are greater than Washu's.  Working for a mysterious Queen Tokimi, Dr.Clay has sent out to capture both Washu and Tenchi.  His robot, Zero, impersonates Ryoko to get close to them.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="zero"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Zero</U></I>- Zero is Dr. Clay's creation.  It impersonates Ryoko in order to draw Washu and Tenchi into his grasp.  Zero however also inherits Ryoko's feelings for Tenchi and gets all red and flustered whenever he comes around.  Unable to do her job Dr. Clay tries to destroy her but Washu stops him.  In the end Zero and Ryoko are recombined leaving Ryoko with the temporary side effects of feeling the way Zero did whenever Tenchi came around.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="queen_tokami"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Queen Tokami</U></I>- Queen Tokami is some sort of inter-dimensional being.  There isn't much information provided on her as she is only in one episode. </div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="azusa"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Azusa</U></I>- The king of Jurai and Aeka and Sasami's father, Azusa shows up on Earth in the final episode of the first series.  He demands Aeka and Sasami return to Jurai and that Aeka marry the man he has chosen for her.  He is strict man but like so many other men crumbles at the slightest whim of his wife. </div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="misaki"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Misaki</U></I>- Misaki is Aeka and Sasami's mother.  She is a loving mother but also a bit strange.  She insist that her daughters act as if they were still little children and will acknowledge them otherwise.  She is also a sucker for a complement.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="funahao"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Funahao</U></I>- Funahao is Yosho's mother, making her Tenchi's great grandmother.  She too is half Earthling having been born on Earth.  She is a quiet, respectable woman who looks alarmingly a lot like Tenchi.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="mayuka"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Mayuka</U></I>- After being created by Yuzuha, Mayuka appears on the temple stairs claiming to be Tenchi's daughter.  She looks as old as Tenchi but acts more like Sasami's age.  She befriends Tenchi and the gang which stops her from doing her job which is to assasinate Tenchi!  In a fit of rage Yuzuha destroys her creation.  </div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="yuzuha"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Yuzuha</U></I>- The Demon of Darkness, Yuzuha, had fallen in love with Yosho when he were a child.  Before she could get him to come with her she was attacked and destroyed by the Jurai Royal Guard.  She is an evil person, but had a soft spot in her heart.  All those years she was in love with Yosho and to get even for being attacked by the Juraians she planned to steal Tenchi from Yosho.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="cain"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Cain</U></I>- A1 Class criminal Cain is some sort of shapeless being who had ravaged and destroyed countless planets and lives before finally being captured in sub-space by the Galaxy Police.  He manages to escape destroying all of the Galaxy Police and travels back in time to destroy the source of the one power that could defeat him, Jurai.</div> <div> <I><U> <A NAME="haruna"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U></I><I><U>Haruna</U></I>-  Yosho's first love, he and Haruna fled Jurai where their love was forbidden.  On the journey to the planet Earth she grew ill and died.  In her loneliness she musters enough strength to create her own world and abducts Tenchi erasing his memory.  All she wants is to live happily with her love, something she was unable to do with Yosho.  She takes Tenchi because he is younger and more like the Yosho she remembers than Yosho is now.</div> <div> <U> <A NAME="yugi"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U><U>Yugi</U> - The villian in Tenchi in Tokyo, Yugi is a mutant child created by the Jurai Royal Family.  She was intended to be a guardian/warrior but her mind was unable to control the massive amount of power it was given.  In a rampage she successfully destroyed most of Jurai before the current ruler captured her and contained in a tomb.  Left alive, Yugi was put into a deep sleep in her tomb.  It was to be sent to the furthest reaches of the galaxy.  along the way it fell onto Earth where many years later the seal was broken and Yugi freed.  Yugi was never a bad person, she only wanted someone to play with.  It's always a bad idea to give immeasurable power to a child!</div> <div> <U> <A NAME="sakuya"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></U><U>Sakuya</U> - Sakuya is a normal high school girl, who falls in love with Tenchi.  She seems to be a carefree teenaged girl at first, but it seems as though shes holding secrets that she doesn't even know.  Without a memory of her past or even her parents, Sakuya's whole existence revolves around Tenchi.  Somethings not right with Sakuya but what is it and why is Yugi so interested in her and Tenchi?</div> <div>  <A NAME="hotsuma"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A><U>Hotsuma</U> - One of Yugi's henchmen, Hotsuma first encounters Tenchi and Sakuya in the back alleyways of Tokyo where he has set up his illusionary house.  Handsome and refined, Hotsuma is a well trained fighter and a smooth talker.  He later befriends Ryoko and persuades her to reclaim her title as the most feared space pirate in the galaxy.
