Welcome to The Hatchet, and thanks for shelling out your hard earned cash for what we hope you will find a great read. As you can see, the format has changed quite a bit - you need a computer to be able to read this. The paper format has also changed. As something of an experiment we have decided to shrink the page size of your fave Bury mag to exactly half of what it used to be.
The reasons for this are:
1), It's envoirmentally friendly - cos it uses less paper;
2), it's easier to stuff it in your pocket while your not reading it;
3), it allows us to con everyone into thinking they're getting batter value for more pages even though they're much smaller;
4), it's cheaper.
We eagerly await the backlash from people who prefer a bigger page size. In fact the arguments about this at Hatchet HQ raged throughout the close season. "We've always been A4 in the past so why change now? When Saturday comes is A4 and if it's good enough for them it's good enough for us...a bigger page looks better etc.."
Of course, it has to be admitted that the main supporter of the A4 cause was the Editor who has always liked A4 because his eyesight's so bad. But anyway we'll leave our final decision up to YOU, our trusty readers - let us know which style you prefer and we'll do it YOUR way.
