![]() Users of the PhotoImpact trial download will not have all of the materials and facilities included with the full program, and they will not have the Droplet 1 Material Preset with which to make the glass. However, the Particle Effect Bubbles is included, and we can use that to make the glass for the globe. You should have the figure of Santa merged with the sky open in PI4. Use the Standard Selection Tool, with Mode, New; Shape,Circle; Fixed Size, checked; the two paramaters both at 280; Soft Edge, 0. Place your cursor right in the top left corner of the image, so that the two co-ordinates at the bottom of the screen, just above the Start button, show 0,0. Click once to select the globe shape. Use Effect/Creative/Particle and select the first option, the bubbles. Set the settings as shown below. Be careful to set the Density setting to 1 BEFORE setting the Size to 100. Set Variance to 0 as soon as you have set the Density and Size settings to prevent the size from changing unexpectedly.
I changed the border colour from the pale cream that is the default to a light grey. To to this, right click on the cream square and from the box which appears choose Ulead Colour Picker. Click on the grey square on the top row of the Ulead Colour Picker and a selection of grey shades is offered. I used the one marked with a red x in the picture below.
When you have set all the parameters in the Bubble settings table, Click OK and the glass will be placed over your Santa and sky image. Your globe is not quite the same as the one which uses Droplet 1, but it is a convincing glass globe.
