Golfer
" The Eighteenth Hole " by Tim Trask, copyright 2000, Bronze limited edition of 10,
height 7 foot. Portrait of the 19th century golf pioneer John Reid, founder of St. Andrews Golf Course in Yonkers New York, the longest continuously operating golf course in America. This course was laid out on a bluff overlooking the Hudson River in an old apple orchard. A large fruit bearing tree became their clubhouse. There they would hang their picnic baskets and coats while playing golf. Because of this habit they were dubbed "The Apple Tree Gang". John Reid is generally regarded as "The Father of American Golf". This sculpture depicts the perfect drive, with an expression of joy only a good game of golf can give.
This Golfer companioned with Christi's Caddie and Fox, won first place in a nationwide call for artist's competition of over 2000 entries. The trio are now gracing the lawn at Fox Hollow Golf Course in Lakewood Colorado. Placed at the entry to the clubhouse, visitors often mistake them for actuals golfers playing through. These Sculptures make a welcome edition to any golf course clubhouse or private home for the avid golfer. Contact us for current prices and edition availability.
