Tim's comments, "The Vikings both ranged the known world and discovered the new world. They were a product of their times and established some colonies in very harsh conditions. They knew that in order to discover a new land you must first lose sight of the familiar shore." This sculpture depicts leif Erickson as he peers from the prow of his boat looking into the unknown."
