The Elusive One
Round and round I went, searching for one elusive friend.
No one's more perfect that him, who gave his life for me.
On that cross, he was the one who saved me from sin.
He was the one who carried my burdens.
He was the one who healed me of my inequities.
He was the one I searched for all my life,
whom I lost and thought I'd never find again.
When I remained still, I felt his presence beside me.
He never left at all, silently watching my every move
in case I fall. He will carry me, I know, to give me that
strength to go on.
He will calm the ferocious storm in my heart and
cast away the demons within.
He will remove all guilt feeling and fill my life
with the joy of suffering for him.
He will never leave until the very end of age
and I will never let go of him.
