First mention of John that I have found in Halifax is Abstracts of Deeds
Edgecombe Co. 1732-1758 by Hofman p. 247 (deedbook pg. 359) where John
witnessed a will in 26 Dec. 1758. This would put an estimate of his
birth date at 1737.
