Another fantasy fairy tale movie, this one stands out from the others. I saw this movie for the first time in the late 80's. I don't remember ever being confused by this movie, but when I saw it again recently with a friend, she told me she was completely confused. I must admit the plot hard to follow. The American version of the movie is very different from the version released in Europe. The director cut many strategic and important scenes from the film, creating the discontinuities and sudden plot changes. Though the movie doesn't always flow, it's still worth watching. I remember really liking the name "Lili" from this movie. I wanted to name my future daughter that. My mom wanted to change her name from "Alice" to something a bit easier to pronounce, and I suggested "Lily." She took my suggestion and so she owes her name to this flim. : )
