Corps at Arkansas Post, November 1862 promoted Maj. Gen. of Volunteers, Vicksburg campaign, commanded Union forces in
Arkansas, supported the Red River campaign, commanded a division in Mobile campaign.
Post War Career Army service, commanded Department of Columbia.
