A, Capt. John Lynch; Co. B, Capt. Emanuel Gephart; Co. C, Capt. Isaac M. Abraham; Co. K, Capt. George W. Hurst-- the other companies filled with men from Fairfield, Fayette, Hocking, Perry, and Vinton Counties.  The Regiment rendezvoused at Camp Circleville, was mustered into the service September 11, 1862, and on the 19th of that month was ordered to Marietta, remaining in camp there until ordered to Memphis, December 1, and was assigned to Sherman's army, then actively engaged against Vicksburg.  Thenceforward the regiment was at the front and in many fierce engagements.  During its term of service the regiment marched by land and water over ten thousand miles, performed duty in ten different States, and was engaged in eight hard fought battles and many skirmishes.  It lost in killed and wounded, six officers and eighty enlisted men.  The loss by disease was very great, the first year, and about two hundred men having died and quite a number were discharged for disability.</FONT></div> <div>      The regiment when organized had as officers: John Cradlebaugh, Colonel;  Horatio B. Maynard, Lieutenant Colonel;  John Kelly, Major;  Surgeon, Dr. Otis E. French, of Commercial Point;  Assistant Surgeon, Dr. William L. Peck, of Circleville.  Colonel John Cradlebaugh, having been seriously wounded in battle, resigned September 20, 1863, and John H.
