Pvt. Edward B. Bensinger

Edward B. Bensinger was born Oct 12 1845 and initially joined the Union Army with the 87th Ohio Vol Inf (Company B) on June 4 1862.
Edward was captured for a brief time (along with 12,000 others) at Harpers Ferry on Sept 15 1862.
After his 3 month enlistment, he was mustered out on Oct 27 1862.
He rejoined the Union Army on Jan 26 1864 with the 120th Ohio Vol Inf, Company E.and was rolled into the 114th OVI on Nov 25 1864. Edward was in Company H.
He was later transfered to the 48th Ohio on July 24 1865 and mustered out of service on May 9 1866.
Edward Bensinger died on Nov 5 1928 in Michigan.
