Natasha Richardson gains self-esteem

"People keep asking how I managed to get him, not the other way around. I have a feeling of losing what was special about me and becoming Mrs. Neeson. I have a famous mother [ Vanessa Redgrave ] , and it took me years to get over that. Now I have this really famous husband. I felt a loss of confidence."

So said the Cabaret actress Natasha Richardson some years back in an expression of the lack of self-esteem that the British press says has mortally wounded her unutterably romantic marriage to superactor Liam Neeson.

Baloney! say Natasha and Liam, and they are studying suing the London Daily Telegraph for libel. The happy couple are right now, as we speak, together at the Biennale in Florence, Italy. (Nobody goes to Florence for a divorce!)

It would break my heart if Natasha and Liam didn't "work out," as they say. I think they are the most fabulous couple and they have two marvelous children as icing on the cake. Not to mention their talents.

Anyway, when Natasha won the Tony for Cabaret recently, and Neeson didn't win anything for The Judas Kiss, I expect that put their respective self-esteems in perspective, don't you?
