::a short, auburn haired girl walks in, followed by a mass of cotton wood fluff. holds up a couple pages covered in fuzz:: any guesses what this is? that's right, it's fluff. no ifs, ands, or buts. it's also the closest i've ever gotten to pwp. hopefully the closest i'll ever get. (i don't count it as pwp, because you COULD argue that it has a plot, albeit a pretty pathetic one) er...don't ask me where this came from. it just hit me as i walked through the door from school today. i'd blame it on too many calvin and hobbes comics, but i haven't read those in quite some time, so i'll blame it on my friend shawn instead. ^_^ even though there are no squirrels. ^_^ aren't i nice to my friends? ^_^; any way, if at first it doesn't seem to make sense, keep reading. if at the end it still doesn't make sense, read it a second time. and if after that it STILL doesn't make sense, ask me to explain it then, after i've told you what's going on, call the nice men in white coats to take me away. ::nods:: let's see...anything else? oh yes, disclaimers. the two, unspecified at this time (you need to read the fic) gw boys are not mine. they belong to the people who own gw. that's not me. ::nods a lot:: suing me would make getting blood from a turnip look EASY! all right, i'll shut up now.

Alien
By Kashu Arashi

The great explorer Rsdfoweir of Ofnlksjdfo Ten Thousand scanned the great expanse of the alien terrain before him. It was rather unimpressive. Some of the planets he'd seen had been liberally covered with towering peaks, not all of which obeyed the laws of physics which stated that they should be broader at the base then at the peak. Others had supported gigantic plant life, mostly edible, and vast oceans of odd smelling liquid. This planet, however, seemed to consist mainly of one large plane that stretched as far as the eye could see. It was broken only by a mountain range in the distance.

The ground was made of a hard, mineral substance, not unlike the explorer had seen on other planets similar to this. All light seemed to come from a thin, straight moon on the other side of the mountains.

Normally, he would have passed such a planet by, deeming it uninteresting.

However, the mountain range fascinated him. Where most mountain ranges were still, this one moved! He had never seen anything like it before! Not only that, but it made noise! Either that, or there was one hell of a strange storm going on over there. High, shrill noises that pierced the ear, lower noises that made his bones rumble, all issued from the strange mountain range. If nothing else on this flat, uninteresting planet deserved looking into, the mountain range needed exploring!

A flick of the wrist and the motor on his sextipodal centioptic aerial vehicle whirred to life. The wings, made from the finest fleogeolite available, beat the air, vanishing into one big blur.

With a shake, the vehicle left the ground. Expertly, Rsdfoweir caught an air stream heading toward the mountain and held himself there, despite the traditional flying pattern of his machine, which was anything but straight. As he neared the mountains, he was amazed to note that it was only part of the range that moved, and that part was divided neatly into distinct types of foliage. There were large patches of dark color, probably trees of some sort, which gave way to lighter color that covered the rest of the mountains.

Peaks stuck out at peculiar angles, shifting wildly with the movement of the ground beneath them. The noise was almost defining here, but it was possible to determine where each noise was coming from.

The high pitched sounds were coming from a cave at one end of the range. The hole gaped in the ground, deep, apparently bottomless. It was rimmed in large slabs of a white substance. The lower noises apparently came from where the upper crust of the mountain range rubbed against the lower one.

Landing on the moving mountains themselves was clearly a foolhardy move, so after circling the area once, Rsdfoweir decided to land on the rim of a pond located on a plateau close by. The rim was narrow, but being the expert pilot that he was, he had no doubt he could make it. The pond it's self was rather opaque and the liquid in it didn't seem to move much, which made him wonder if it was polluted. He determined to check once he had landed. Carefully he set his sextipodal centioptic aerial vehicle down on his chosen landing spot. A perfect landing! As he prepared to climb out, however, the ground beneath the vehicle shifted and he realized, too late, that it was covered in a fine layer of liquid from the pond. He tried to scramble out of his craft and leap to safety, but his foot caught on the safety belt and he was trapped! Screaming involuntarily in panic, he thrashed as his vehicle careened into the pond. He was drowning, drowning in this strange, thick, white, not-water. This couldn't be the end! Not after all the things he'd done! Suddenly, without warning, the upper crust of the mountains broke away and loomed over him. He had been wrong! It wasn't a mountain at all, but some sort of gargantuan life form! He desperately flashed the universal signal for help, and it appeared the life form saw him! He was saved!

"Hn." Heero Yuy glared balefully down at the creature thrashing in his jar of ointment.

"What is it Heero?" A voice from the bed behind him half whimpered.

"There's a fly in here." Heero turned and held the jar out for Duo to see. The other boy sighed in exasperation, squirming in the bonds securing him to the headboard.

"So it's the worlds best lubricated fly, so what? Come on Heero, get rid of it and pay attention to me!"

After a moment's hesitation, Heero shrugged and plucked the fly from the ointment by its wings, eyeing it. "Omae o korosu." With a flick he sent the insect over Duo's prone body and into the electric fly swatter in the window. Duo watched him dubiously.

"You just told a fly you were going to kill it? I swear Heero, there are days I think you're just not human."
