Marion Townsend superbly organised the125th Anniversary of Springvale Homestead weekend with the help of a band of volunteers. I went on the Town Tour in a Ghan bus with tour guide Jim Forscutt, newly retired mayor of Katherine. Then it was back to Springvale for corned beef & pickle sandwiches and an afternoon of entertainment. Displays of needlework and garments were set up inside the house. Modern Aboriginal designed table runners decorated the tables for the Gala Dinner tonight.
