The Grand Parade

All country shows have a Grand Parade. Katherine is horse and Brahmin cattle country. All of the various livestock categories are judged in pens and sheds around the Showground and the owners of prize animals get ribbons, certificates, cash and prestige. The more tractable animals like horses and cattle participate in the Grand Parade with their ribbons but the chooks & ducks stay on display in their cages. There are competition horse events and also a rodeo.
