Royal Australian Air Force

36 Squadron has been at RAAF Base Richmond, NSW since 1958 and operates the Lockheed C-130 "H" Model Hercules. The Hercules is the workhorse of the Australian Defence Force. It ran mercy missions to Darwin after Cyclone Tracey in 1974, helped out in our Clybucca flood of 2001 and recently flew Iraqi athletes out of Baghdad to Athens for the 2004 Olympic Games.

The Air Command Band also came from RAAF Base Richmond for the Tindal Open Day and the F-111s came from RAAF Base Amberley in Qld. The F/A-18 Hornets are based at RAAF Base Tindal in Katherine.
