Tindal Open Day

15 August 2004

RAAF Base Tindal operates F/A-18 Hornets so they are a common sight in the skies above Katherine. The pilots of No. 75 Squadron fly the Hornets. The base was established in 1984 and the families at Tindal comprise about 25% of Katherine's 10,000-odd population.

Apart from seeing the planes in action, we also saw Australia's Federation Guard Precision Drill Display and the Military Working Dog Display. All three services - army, air force & navy - took part in the Precision Drill and three military dogs strutted their stuff.
