In a previous life, this unit was Lancaster and Chester
Railway #62. She was bought
new by the L&C in 1950, then sold to the Laurinburg
and Southern in 1965 and renumbered 104. Later,
she was relettered to Red Springs & Northern,
a shortline that has since been abadoned but was once run
by the L&S. Here she sits in Laurinburg in May,
2000 preparing to be retro fitted with a smaller but
heavier 400 hp engine. (Joseph C. Hinson)
