Proposals for Internet Projects in the Field of Dreams
On of the more interesting intellectual and educational uses of the Internet is to have a group get together and read & discuss a text. Usually the participants sign up for a particular Mail List that is offering the reading. Participants find their own copies of the book and read the assigned pages. Then the chapters or assigned pages are discussed via the Internet Mail List. The pace is usually relaxed and adequate time is given for the readings, hence the term Slow Reading.
What we are suggesting for this ASD project, is to have the Author on the Mail List Group as well, perhaps as the moderator or in conjunction with a moderator. For some dream related books, this is of course not possible, but for many there may be an opportunity for the author to have a new kind of audience and for the reader to experience a new way of reading.
This project still has many questions and possibilities to be explored. If there are going to be charges for being on the list, these will need to be discussed, as well as the selection process and other considerations.
